Here in New Orleans, wedding cakes are a work of art, a personal expression, and, of course, delicious! I wanted to gather together some of our favorite wedding cakes that we've had the honor to add flowers to (or flowers behind!)

This stunner was created by Gambino's Bakery and is a gorgeous, 4 tiered simple design of lined buttercream with circles of greenery on each tier. With just a touch of flowers in 2 places on the cake - the clear eye candy here (besides this adorable couple) is the amazing cake backdrop which was a joint effort between Luminous Events and Herbivore Floral! The planked wood & gold walls with a custom sign added made for an incredible base. Then we decked out with greenery and roses in pinks and whites.

This marble masterpiece was created by La Louisiane Bakery. This cake took my breath away and the backdrop certainly helped me love it even more. The circle backdrop covered in white flowers and dripping greenery, and the glass cake table covered in candles - everything about this screams - "This cake is going to be amazing. Get ready people!" I just can't get over the white, gray, and gold marbled cake - it looks like it was hand painted on the fondant. Gorgeous!

There is so much to love about this mask covered 4 tiered confection! From the gold leaf, to the marbled layer, and the beautiful masks. A light smattering of roses, spray roses, and ruscus finish off the design.

Chez Pierre can be thanked for this 5 tiered work of art. However, I like to think that the flowers did add a bit of the artistry to the cake. The flowers cascading down the cake make me so happy and are stunning. A combination of ivory roses, ivory spray roses, white lisianthus and ivory ranunculus create this textured look on the cake and ruscus is used for the pops of greenery. The cake topper is custom made in the likeness of the bride and groom and their two dogs!

A truly unique cake - this is a naked cake with gold leaf icing dripped all around and then decked in a beautiful collage of florals including scabiosa, ranunculus, poppy, anthurium, spray rose, with true blue eucalyptus, and fern leaf.
